The husband will most likely be convicted. The bruising on the wife’s throat could be prima facie evidence of domestic battery.
San Diego and some other municipalities have statutes that enable the police to make an arrest base on the evidence, even if the spouse of the alleged offender does not want to press charges. When a crime is comitted, it is not up to the victim to decide whether or not the state should intervene. That’s a good law because many women who are abused refuse to press charges for fear of retaliation by their husband.

She will miss time off work due to her injuries, which will result in her losing her job, which will result in her eviction, which will result in her losing custody of her children.
Her husband will get custody of her children because he will contest her ability to care for them, and he has more money and extended family who will go to court for him and attest to his ability to parent them.

South Indians: How do you like the Universities in Tamilnadu vying with each other to please ruling…?
political leaders ? Like the introduction of Studies on Kalaignar (CM Mr Karunanidhi) or award of Doctorate to his son and Dy CM, Mr Stalin? Earlier, Ms Jaya madam also had her share of laurels (Doctorates) from the Varisities!
The eminent thinker, orator, writer and politician that Mr K is, he had already got many laurels from his fans in and outside the party, for his contributions to literature, reformist efforts etc. Still he had allowed conferment of titles by his own / ally party’s Trusts of sorts that betrayed his weakness for more titles and encouraged the varisities (most VC’s are de facto political appointees though they went through formal ’screening’ by committees!) to flatter the octogenarian with more honours!
What are your thoughts on this trend? Would you compare it with the Nobel award for Prez Obama and justify the trend here or consider them as more insult to the titles / awards / institutions etc?
Pl try to think outside political affiliations on the trend, taking due account of the merits really possessed by the veteran statesman, but which are openly flattered beyond limits for other than just honour of the subject (For sake of sycophancy and self interests) by institutions who should follow some good tradition.
I think the question is posted already (or after this) in Current events also. And I saw the expected answers decrying the trend. What is the use of highlighting the pathology of sycophancy in the yahoo, where the visitors are few? The media should take up the exposures if they care to educate the public. But every citizen knows the survival techniques of the University administration as much as any other autonomous institution!
Did we not see even judges lauding the CM in public functions and placing requests for funds for more judicial facilities? Few standard journals only flashed the changing trend of this kind. Rulers know that they can keep people of consequence to them in good humour by providing what the posts of autonomy could not do for their appointees! And the latter in turn keep the rulers in good humour to draw the benefits. The finer elements of dignity and all are out of place in contemporary society.
Have we not see the CBI invite the indiction of the top court for its playing to the tunes of govt? If the highest and critical autonomous body could be so much ‘influenced’ blatantly by the central govt., what are these universities and film associations? They are all the same comic groups singing for their survivals.
Did you not read in papers how the Vigilance and Anti Corruption Director who was getting impressively active with exposure of misdeeds in sensitive public service depts, shifted to an insignificant post by this very state govt? So would you want the Varsity chiefs to be loyal to their designated duties and lose their next term or do some fire works to continue in the favour list of rulers?

Is my mom being unreasonable?
Okay, I wanted to go to a store all day to buy a $20.00 item with MY gift card MY FRIEND gave me for $25.00. Anyways, the store is about 3-4 miles away and it was raining so I couldnt walk. While my mom was gone at work, i cleaned the house, got everything set up, and asked her if she could take me. She said no and that I should "nag" her later. she hung up. Later in the day I asked her (at 8:00) and she said no, when I asked her why she said "because I said so." when i asked what i should do she said that she’ll go when it’s okay for "her schedule". When I said that she was being unfair, she told me that she didn’t have to explain herself to me, and she made me walk home (about 2 miles) and Ive been sick for a few days (it was cold and I had shorts on).
I’m not a bad kid, I dont party or do drugs and I got a 4.0 gpa this semester (taking hard classes in high school)
As a Teen to Teen, I would say yes. But that is how parents can be my mother can be such a botch at times that I just go in my room and turn the music up so loud I can’t hear her "nagging". You just have to wait this one out and hope that your good grades take you to a collage far away.

Need sauce recipes…?
CALLING ALL COOKS AND CHEFS:
I have a bunch of Omaha Steak fish fillets I am trying to eat for lunch. It ranges from stuffed sole to halibut and salmon and swordfish.
My plan is to pair the fish with veggies (i.e. broccolli, carrots, cauliflower, spinach, etc). OR brown rice.
I am hoping to find some SIMPLE sauce recipes that would go well with these pairings 
Just a dash of lemon and pepper is gonna get old pretty fast.
note: i do not like spicy sauce (or sauce with any kind of peppers in it), incredibly peppery sauces, anything with mustard, or mushrooms. I also do not enjoy more than a dash of onions.

A simple lemon butter sauce is fantastic on fish and veggies. Melt 1/2 stick butter in a pan, add juice of 1 lemon and simmer. Season with salt and pepper as necessary. Freshly chopped dill can be added to the pan as well.

Hollandaise sauce is great with fish especially salmon. Some find it difficult to make from scratch so you can always buy the Knorr brand mix. (they are the best I have found so far) You might also pick up their bearnaise sauce mix and try it. I believe they have a lemon dill sauce still that was great with fish. Knorr’s parma rosa sauce is another good easy option.
Another good option is to top a filet with diced tomatoes a touch of onion and bake in a foil packet. This is also good with a bit of lemon and capers.
Lastly think about a bit of soy sauce and ginger on top when you cook it.

my daughter is still being breast fed it has become very painfull i really dont want her on formula cause all the sugar she eats baby food and healthy regular food i also give her juice but she only wants the breast in the morning and at night instead if breastfeeding do you thing i can give her her sippy cup with cows milk she does not use bottles thanks for your input
in pain cause of her teeth and when i pump i do not really get anything anymore i get about an ounce and thank you i know there is sugar in milk and in breast milk but formula is not on my side my husbanddoes not want her to have it i have tryied all sorts of thing to stop her from biting and grinding her teeth on me i am ready to stop i have never had a problem breastfeeding her but i just can do it any more help hehe

we know each other 8 years and are close friends years now, and today i talked with her about how she behaves in front of me, the thing is she does not care of ANYTHING, she is obsessed with the mirror ( once she spent 4 hours in front of the mirror eating and watching tv), she does not listen to me fully, she doe not always look at me when i talk, when she is talking on the phone and we met, she did not really pay attention to me when i said hello, when we dicuss she laughs at me and she just listens tow hat i have to say but she does not argue and she says she does not care and she is proud of her, she is THE MOST arrogant person you can imagine!!!!!!! i mean i am one of her closest friends, we meet very often, and honestly i do not care about her anymore, she is really selfish and when we walk on the street ii have to follow her and if she walks fast i have to go fast to,……

This girl isn’t worth your time. You deserve better friends that will treat you with respect instead of treating you badly. This girl is going to lose everything close to her if she continues this behaviour. Trust me one of my ex friends who I had known for years experienced this and she regretted it in the end!
So my advice? Go out and have fun with other friends that do treat you well and maybe join a few clubs to gain more friends. Nobody can ever have too many friends!

What are my rights regarding having a bus stop removed (UK)?
There is one directly outside my house and double yellow lines above the stop. There is also double yellow lines the whole length of my road which makes parking extremely difficult. I have over the years parked like anybody else on there as a ‘free for all’ and I have had my cars vandalised several times and most recently a hit and run has left my car off the road with ?2000 worth of damage. I noticed some houses on there have made their gardens into parking spaces yet because of the bus stop being right outside my property I cannot do this. As I feel that it is my right to knock down my garden wall and pave off the garden to allow my car to be on my property rather than on the road, I want to know what I have to do to ask for this bus stop to be moved to a different part of the road. Lower down none of the houses have access to their gardens with a car space because they have left them as gardens. Also the bus stop is very close to the top of a hill which makes it even more dangerous. I do realise the stop has been there a long time, but times and circumstances change, and I cannot keep having my vehicles vandalised like this simply because I cannot have the freedom to put it onto my property because this bus stop is in the way. Also the vandalism that is paramount now is very bad which wasn’t a problem several years ago. I just wondered about what my rights are. I would appreciate advice from people in the know – thank you
Sadly you have virtually no hope. If parking is such chaos, then the removal of the bus stop will not ease the situation sufficiently.

You have no rights at all regarding the bus stop or parking your car. Your rights stop at your front wall. Even if the bus stop was not there, you’d need to get your local authority to put in a crossover – driving across the pavement is illegal.
If you want to try to have the street rearranged, you could start with your local authority planning department. However, you would need to persuade them that the arrangement would be for the public good and not just for your convenience.

Try speaking to your local MP about it, if you want to make your own garden into a drive then that is your right but seeing as the bus stop gets in the way you could ask them to remove it or get one that is just a metal pole so it does not block the whole of your front off
